Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining honey with ¼ cup of lukewarm water and letting it sit with yeast for 5 minutes.
- Combine the flour and remaining water in a bowl, adding the yeast mixture, and stir until a sticky dough forms.
- Let the dough rise for about 1 hour covered with a damp cloth until it doubles in size.
- Bake the bread at 425°F (220°C) for 25 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (160°C) and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
- Enjoy the bread after cooling on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Let the dough rise properly for the best texture. For a denser bread, substitute whole wheat flour.
