- 2 cups Water
- 1 cup Dried hibiscus flowers
- 2 Ripe mangoes, diced
- ¼ cup Honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- Lemon slices (for garnish), as needed
- Ice cubes, as needed
Instructions
- Boil 2 cups of water in a saucepan until it reaches a rolling boil.
- Add the dried hibiscus flowers to the boiling water, and let the mixture steep for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Strain the tea into a pitcher, discarding the flowers, and stir in honey or sugar until dissolved.
- Let the tea cool at room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.
- In a blender, puree the diced mangoes until smooth.
- In tall glasses, add the pureed mango and pour the hibiscus tea over it, filling the glasses with ice cubes as you go.
- Garnish with a lemon slice, and serve cold for a delightful refreshment!
Notes
For a stronger flavor, let the hibiscus steep a little longer. Options for natural sweeteners like agave nectar can be used for a lower-calorie choice.
