  • 1 cup Dried hibiscus flowers
  • 2 Ripe mangoes, diced
  • ¼ cup Honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Lemon slices (for garnish), as needed
  • Ice cubes, as needed

Instructions

  1. Boil 2 cups of water in a saucepan until it reaches a rolling boil.
  2. Add the dried hibiscus flowers to the boiling water, and let the mixture steep for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea into a pitcher, discarding the flowers, and stir in honey or sugar until dissolved.
  4. Let the tea cool at room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.
  5. In a blender, puree the diced mangoes until smooth.
  6. In tall glasses, add the pureed mango and pour the hibiscus tea over it, filling the glasses with ice cubes as you go.
  7. Garnish with a lemon slice, and serve cold for a delightful refreshment!

Notes

For a stronger flavor, let the hibiscus steep a little longer. Options for natural sweeteners like agave nectar can be used for a lower-calorie choice.
