Delightful low sugar cookies made with applesauce and oats, flavored with warm cinnamon and nutmeg.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 12 cookies 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups baked oats
  • 1 cup sweet applesauce
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup natural honey
  • 1 tsp leavening powder
  • 1/4 tsp fine salt
  • 1/2 cup optional raisins
  • 1/2 cup optional chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sweet applesauce, baked oats, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, natural honey, leavening powder, and fine salt. Stir until well combined.
  3. If desired, fold in optional raisins or chocolate chips to the mixture for added flavor and texture.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  6. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Don’t overmix the dough to keep cookies soft and chewy. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
