- ½ cup light brown sugar
- ⅓ cup water
- 1 ½ tbsp unsulphured molasses
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- ½ cup chai tea concentrate
- ½ – ¾ cup oat milk
- Handful of ice (optional)
- Coconut whipped cream or ¼ cup oat milk (for topping)
Instructions
- Combine the light brown sugar, water, and unsulphured molasses in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Stir well and let simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
- If making an iced version, fill a glass with ice and pour in the chai tea concentrate.
- Mix in the gingerbread syrup, starting with 3 tablespoons, and adjust sweetness to taste.
- Pour in oat milk and stir to combine.
- Froth additional oat milk if desired, and top the latte. Serve with coconut whipped cream if you like.
Notes
Adjust sweetness to taste and use coconut milk for a nut-free version.
