Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup water
  • 1 ½ tbsp unsulphured molasses
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chai tea concentrate
  • ½¾ cup oat milk
  • Handful of ice (optional)
  • Coconut whipped cream or ¼ cup oat milk (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Combine the light brown sugar, water, and unsulphured molasses in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Stir well and let simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  3. If making an iced version, fill a glass with ice and pour in the chai tea concentrate.
  4. Mix in the gingerbread syrup, starting with 3 tablespoons, and adjust sweetness to taste.
  5. Pour in oat milk and stir to combine.
  6. Froth additional oat milk if desired, and top the latte. Serve with coconut whipped cream if you like.

Notes

Adjust sweetness to taste and use coconut milk for a nut-free version.
