Experience the ethereal lightness of First Snow Lava Angel Cake, a delightful blend of airy angel food cake and a sumptuous molten chocolate center.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 7 Egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon Cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate chips
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Fruits (optional), for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the egg whites, cream of tartar, and vanilla. Whip until soft peaks form, then gradually add sugar, whipping until stiff peaks are reached.
  3. Carefully fold in the flour until just combined, then pour the batter into an ungreased angel food cake pan.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and cool upside-down.
  5. For the molten chocolate filling, heat heavy cream until simmering, then stir in chocolate chips until smooth. Pour into the cooled cake’s center.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh fruits if desired.

Notes

You can substitute granulated sugar for coconut sugar for a healthier version, or use aquafaba instead of egg whites for a vegan option.
