- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup sourdough starter discard
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your 8×8-inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the sourdough starter discard, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing well to incorporate.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 28-32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool in the pan before slicing.
Notes
Don’t overmix the batter to keep brownies fudgy. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
