Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package puff pastry sheets
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Your favorite pie filling or fresh fruit to taste
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional) to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut them into squares.
- Combine the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket, pinching the seams to seal.
- Brush the tops of the danishes with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- Top with pie filling or fresh fruit, and dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
