Ingredients
Scale
- 4 single-serve chai tea bags
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chai concentrate
- 1/3 – 1/2 cup milk of choice
- Ice
Instructions
- Start by boiling the water in a pot. Once it reaches a rolling boil, add the tea bags. Let them steep for about 5 minutes to ensure you get the full flavor from the spices.
- After steeping, remove the tea bags and place the pot back on the stove on medium heat. Add the brown sugar and stir it in until dissolved, about two minutes. Then, bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it simmer for an additional 3 minutes.
- Once your chai concentrate is ready, let it cool a bit and then pour it into a glass jar with a secure lid. You can store this concentrate in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- When you’re ready to enjoy your drink, fill a glass with ice, pour in about 1/4 cup of chai concentrate, and top it off with your milk of choice (1/3 to 1/2 cup). Stir gently to mix all the flavors together.
Notes
Store chai concentrate for future use. You can adjust the sweetness and experiment with different milk alternatives for variation.
