Indulge in Chai Syrup and Tea Concentrate, a creation that delivers a fusion of spices and sweetness, perfect for cozy evenings.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons loose black tea or 2 tea bags
  • 1 cup sugar (or sweetener of choice)
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  • 5-6 cardamom pods
  • 1-2 cloves
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger (sliced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • Milk of choice (oat milk, almond milk, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Begin by bringing 2 cups of water to a boil in your medium saucepan.
  2. Once the water is boiling, add the loose black tea or the tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. After 5 minutes, remove the tea bags or strain out the loose tea. Next, add the sugar or sweetener to the liquid while stirring until dissolved.
  4. Then, toss in the cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, cloves, sliced ginger, and black peppercorns. Let it all simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes.
  5. When all the spices have infused into the liquid, you can strain the syrup into a jar. Allow it to cool before sealing it up and placing it in the refrigerator.

Notes

Add milk or water to taste. Store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
