Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, butter, and heavy cream. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir constantly until the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
- Once it reaches a boil, continue to cook for approximately five minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully stir in the sweetened condensed milk, instant coffee granules, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until they are completely melted and the mixture is uniform.
- Pour this delightful creation into a greased 8×8 inch pan and spread it evenly. Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature before transferring it to the refrigerator to become fully firm, which takes about one hour.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute the butter with coconut oil and the heavy cream with almond or oat milk. Add a dash of cinnamon or espresso powder for a bolder flavor.
