  • Total Time: 24 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup neutral oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: 2 to 3 tablespoons chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 320 F (160 C) for about 3 minutes.
  2. Mix the flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, oil, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  6. Fill the liners about 2/3 full.
  7. Air fry at 320 F (160 C) for 10 to 14 minutes.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes before frosting or eating.

Notes

Fill liners to 2/3 full to prevent overflow. Lower temperature and avoid overmixing for fluffier cupcakes. Use ramekins to provide support for the liners.
