- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup neutral oil (or melted butter)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: 2 to 3 tablespoons chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 320 F (160 C) for about 3 minutes.
- Mix the flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, oil, and vanilla.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Fill the liners about 2/3 full.
- Air fry at 320 F (160 C) for 10 to 14 minutes.
- Cool for 10 minutes before frosting or eating.
Notes
Fill liners to 2/3 full to prevent overflow. Lower temperature and avoid overmixing for fluffier cupcakes. Use ramekins to provide support for the liners.
